Assoc. Prof. Taweechai Amornsakchai

Taweechai Amornsakchai is an Associate Professor at Mahidol University. With a Ph.D. in Polymer Physics, his research focuses on reinforcing plastics with pineapple leaf fiber and exploring pineapple stem starch for biodegradable packaging.

Taweechai Amornsakchai is an Associate Professor in the Polymer Science and Technology Program, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Thailand. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Chemistry from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 1989, followed by a Ph.D. in Polymer Physics from the University of Leeds, UK in 1994. Since 1994, he has served as a university lecturer. His research interests encompass the structure-property relationship in polymers, highly oriented polymers and fibers, natural fibers, composite and nanocomposite materials, and the circular economy of pineapple field waste. Currently, his focus lies in reinforcing plastics and rubbers with pineapple leaf fiber, as well as exploring the utilization of pineapple stem starch as an alternative material for biodegradable packaging.
