The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development aims to promote and enhance research and development (R & D) undertakings in the University of the Philippines Diliman. It publishes and disseminates research outputs by University of the Philippines (UP) faculty and researchers, as well as assists UP Diliman personnel doing R&D work. It also:
a. formulates policies and guidelines on R&D, which recognize and institutionalize R&D as a major undertaking of UP Diliman
b. initiates measures and procedures to coordinate any and all research activities of UP Diliman with the proper offices and units
c. implements these policies, guidelines, and procedures for the conduct of R&D actitivies, and
d. identifies and prioritizes areas of R&D and, for this purpose, coordinates with offices, agencies, and institutions and regularly updates the UP Diliman research community on these priorities
