Melaka, Malaysia - DECON 2008 aims to be the platform for discussions and exchange of ideas in design, concurrent engineering and manufacturing activities at large to foster closer mutual ties between both academicians and the industry.
Concurrent Engineering (CE) is generally recognized as a practice of incorporating various life-cycles into the early stages of design. CE is also known as simultaneous engineering, forward engineering and integrated engineering development. To take full advantage of CE, manufacturers have to respond to the market demand by improving the total development process. Thus, design excellence is crucial for the sustainability of manufacturing organizations.
Following the success of DECON 2006, again DECON 2008 aims to be the platform for discussions and exchange of ideas in design, concurrent engineering and manufacturing activities at large to foster closer mutual ties between both academicians and the industry.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Engineers and industrial practitioners
To share and disseminate latest technologies, scientific, engineering achievements and findings in the general field of manufacturing engineering, specifically in the design areas
To offer an experience and information sharing platform for local academic institutions and industries regarding the advancement in manufacturing and engineering design
To give information and instill awareness on the opportunities of collaboration among local academic institutions and industrial partnerships in the activities of co-operation, research and consultancy
The Conference focuses on all aspects of design and concurrent engineering – research, development and applications. The list of program topics includes but is not limited to:
